If you’ve read “The Game” by Neil Strauss or seen VH1’s “The Pick Up Artst” then you’re familiar with a man named “Mystery.” He’s been described as the “World’s Greatest Pick Up Artist” for a good reason. In this video he tells about his obsession with magic and how it helped him evolve his game to a new level. Now Mystery’s game transcends just using magic, but it’s undoubtedly played a major role in his success and he’ll always have these abilities.

There is a lot of misconception that PUMA Skills is promoting Magic as a great way to “open” the interaction with a girl. NOT TRUE. Although it can be done…this is risky. First impressions are everything, and if you start out as a magician and that’s all she knows about you…the rest of the interaction you’ll be trying to convince her that there’s more to you. Plus, you’ve fired the big guns way too early.
Magic can be really powerful when the girl least expects it, with little set up…and when you’ve already established rapport. Unless you have amazing skills and an even MORE amazing way to follow…a PUMA typically would wait til later in the interaction to open.
You know that time in your conversation where you would normally tell a story to the girl to create some sort of connection (real or canned)? That’s a great place to interject a magic effect.
EXCEPTIONS- The Proximity Open: This is where you are doing a casual but visual effect (like levitating an object or using flash paper) in a girls line-of-sight. Perhaps you’re doing an effect for a friend and it’s close enough to get noticed. It’s important to be low key and casual here…she’ll be much more likely to come over and open you.
Conversely…your wingman could pull her in and say, “Watch, you gotta see this!” **If he does this…make sure you become “The Reluctant Magician.” Play it off, laugh and tell them that your friend is impressed very easily. I’ll say, “Ok watch, my grandpa just taught me this…” They’ll think you’re about to pull a coin out from behind their ear. When you float a bill or make five $1 bills turn into five $100 bills in front of their eyes…you may even get a scream!
EXCEPTION Number “B” I have taken the opportunity to open a group of girls with a magic trick when the girl I’m opening is NOT the target. She’s the friend, the girlgoyle, the grenade, etc. I like to find her when she’s not directly “with” her friend, but standing near her or wait til the hot girl has left temporarily.
Theory here:
Summary: Don’t Open with Tricks. Insert them into your set at certain unexpected times. If you absolutely must open…either do a Proximity Open, have your friend pull a girl in and be “The Reluctant Magician” or open the fattest girl in the group. (I mean the one you’re not as interested in…just to be P.C.)
MAGIC…its mysterious allure can captivate us in childhood and make us believe in the impossible. If we’re fortunate enough to keep a splinter of that in our adulthood, magic can make us feel young again and remember what it was like when we could suspend disbelief. Magic has the power to entertain young and old, male and female.
Some magicians are corny and silly, others are mysterious and marry supermodels (Copperfield). Then there are those of us somewhere in between. Several years ago I learned some basic magic tricks at a bar and when I playfully showed the girl standing next to me…I couldn’t believe how her entire demeanor changed and “she” became instantly more playful and fun.
Since then I have successfully interweaved magic into my game. Magic never got the girl for me…but it helped enhance my personality and made it easier to get the girl…or at least have more fun trying.
You see, a magic trick will NEVER get you the girl. A magic trick or routine cannot in itself trigger attraction. If it could, it wouldn’t be a secret…every guy would be doing “tricks for chicks.”
It’s not the trick that gets the girl…it’s the personality displayed by the proper performance of the effects that can trigger attraction and excitement. Magic can enhance your personality with charisma, charm and confidence…if performed correctly.
A vast majority of guys will absolutely refuse to learn or ever do a magic trick while talking to a girl. They believe it will make them look foolish or like they’re trying too hard. At the other end, some guys learn amazing tricks but still can’t seem to convey the charm and sensuality that is so important in the interaction with the girl. So either they’re too afraid to use it or are too afraid to use anything else but magic. The key lies in the middle…to integrate the Pick-Up Arts with the Magic Arts.
This is the exact reason behind P.U.M.A Skills. The Pick-Up Magic Arts.
By intertwining the two skills, your game gets stronger, you become a better performer and you have a lot more fun in each situation.
PUMA Skills was created as a product that I wish existed when I was learning magic. I have never wanted to be a full time magician. But I enjoyed the reactions and attention I got from when I was out socially.
I spent a lot of time and money filtering out all the useless tricks that I could never use in real-life situations and distilled it to the product you see here…though it is ever-evolving.
I realized that your magic doesn’t have to be amazing to be impressive (though I still love amazing tricks). However, your magic does have to be spontaneous and instantly available. You have to be comfortable doing it and not look like you’re trying too hard. You have to know when to pull it out and when to keep it under wraps.
So people have been asking what PUMA skills I possess. I’ll tell you right now I’m not a world class magician and wouldn’t be caught dead on stage. But these tricks are field tested and approved for use in pick-up. EVERY one of them has worked numerous times. They’re easy enough to master for an amateur and you can even do them when you’re drunk off your arse!

How’s your Game? Are you a self described “Pick Up Artist” or PUA as it’s more commonly known among some insiders? Do you look for every advantage to gain an edge when approaching girls or women? If you’re smart you do. One of the most important aspect of meeting women, sarging them, gaming them, whatever you want to call it is demonstrating social prowess.
Napoleon Dynamite said it best when he said: “Nunchaku skills… bowhunting skills… computer hacking skills… Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills!”
Demonstrating Higher Value (DHV). I don’t advise carrying these with you next time you go to a bar, but having skills to impress and entertain can be very powerful. One technique that can be the most successful is the use of Magic. Simple sleights and illusions can cause a woman to enter a state of “mystery.” It’s no coincidence how the most famous PUA of all time uses that exact name….and is a proud illusionist.
The PROBLEM is that most guys who learn a couple casual tricks, go out and perform them and look like complete clowns. At best they look like they’re trying too hard.Do a trick well and you can command a room. Do a trick poorly and the room will command you to leave! That doesn’t mean that you need the style of Mystery, David Blaine, Criss Angel or David Copperfield to use Magic…but it does mean you need to know the fundamentals of magic, pick up and most importantly how to integrate the two seamlessly. You then become more than a chump with a trick or a PUA with a gimmick.
You become a PUMA: Pick Up Magic Artist.
Done correctly women will be stunned by your abilities and actually pull their friends over to meet you. Their guy friends will watch you “hoping” that you’ll screw up…when you don’t…you get mad props from them. And when you control the men, the women will follow. The next time they see you out they will request magic. This means they want something from you. It’s a very small task to turn that into “wanting you.” But it can be a challenge to get them to view you as more than a dancing magic monkey.
The SOLUTION: PUMA SKILLS
We’re here to teach you. We’re going to show you some really Good magic (and some of it is Great). You see, if your game is “good” and your magic is “good,” neither one of them have to be “Great.” The combination makes up for it. But imagine if they’re both great. Well, you get books written about you by Neil Strauss and a TV show. But most of us don’t need all that. Most of us are hunting cats. Pussycats, Cougars and everything in between…and PUMA’s can take them all down.
